चोदनालक्षणोऽर्थो धर्मः

codanā-lakṣaṇo'rtho dharmaḥ — "Dharma is that good which is known through Vedic injunction."

Jaimini's second sūtra is the door to the entire śāstra. Dharma cannot be known by perception, nor inference, nor any worldly testimony — only by codanā, the Vedic injunction. Today's page sits with what this quiet claim demands of us.
